About this blog
Come for a daily dose of delight. Connect with like-hearted folks. Infuse your everyday life with a bit of gentleness and compassion.
This is what the Barefoot Barn’s blog, Gems of Delight, is all about.
Discover delight in your everyday life through compassionate community and the wisdom of yoga, mindfulness, psychotherapy, and soulful folks.
Here I share the gems of everyday life. These gems are my way of embracing simple ways of living mindfully and discovering delight. I hope you join in the growing community.
I created this blog because, as a mama to two little honeys, any sense of contentment, peace, stillness, delight, happiness, and certainly sanity(!) has to be found, practiced and appreciated right here in my every day life – in the messy and miraculous.

May these words, stories, and love notes leave you resting in the calm, sweet delight of your true nature…inspired to share it all with the world. That’s the mission, purpose, reason, and prayer of the Barefoot Barn.
Touched by what you read here?
Share it with a dear one so they can also wake up, lighten up, and live with greater insight, gentleness, and compassion, noticing the gems in our lives. I believe that this is how we transform our planet.

As a fitness instructor of Tai Chi, Yoga, Pilates, Dance… I relish the joy of sharing positive energy with the participants in my classes. My daughter is now grown but your blog reminds me of the “Precious Moments” we spent together… we also read some of the “Precious Moments” books too!
Many blessings,
Maria Lauren
